I know who all of you are because I have connections in the NSA. But does anyone know who I am? Uh-oh, Canuck infiltration!

How's G. Gordon Liddy? You know, I met Liddy once. He and Timothy Leary were touring, doing debates, and they came to Pitt. It was a fairly small crowd, so we got to mingle with them a while. Liddy was intense. Even being a druggie like I was, I couldn't help but like him.

Hello! I'm so new I don't have an avatar uploaded or a signature in place. Thanks for the invitation, the place looks great. I don't post a ton on WC, so I don't know how many know me. I published my first book 18 months ago, just in time for the golden age of Select and rode those promotions for all they were worth. Put my second book out eight months ago as a companion piece to my first book (Think Ender's Game/Ender's Shadow, but in a completely different genre.) Right now I'm in the midst of writing a serial using short stories and finishing up my third book, which will be in a completely different genre than my first two: a sure recipe for success, right?
I love far-ranging discussions, but I'm not dogmatic about anything. I don't feel a need to convince someone to see things my way, but I like to hear what everyone else has to say. I still think of myself as serving my self-publishing apprenticeship, so I'm not big on giving a lot of advice (I always think everyone else knows more than I do) but I'm glad to pitch in and help in areas where I have had some decent success, like building an active and responsive FB page.
Cheers, and thanks again for the invite!

You'll have to excuse vrab. He *is* dogmatic about his adult beverages. Shawn, I was thinking of you and your advice on Fb "talking about this" numbers when I was poking around on one of my favorite pages this morning. How'd you like to have this going on?

Becca, those numbers would be like a dream to me. I was proud of my #'s this morning: 1681 fans, 1281 Talking About This. Now I will just slink off into the corner and lick my wounds. (And check out that page to see if there's anything worth stealing.
And... it's always 5:00 somewhere! Thanks for the welcome, although I continue, like Groucho, to believe I wouldn't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member.

You put on spandex, 6" plats and makeup a few hundred times and it haunts you for the rest of your life.

Today I'm at 24 out of 160. I'm guessing Fantasy and Sci-Fi Rock My World didn't buy a bunch of fake likes; if they hadn't they wouldn't have so much engagement, right? The page is always crawling with people. Possibly a good place to advertise, for those of us who write swords & sorcery and sci-fi??

Hi, Shawn, and welcome. (Waves from across the Pond).
I remember your first Select free promo and the humungous numbers you reported. Hope it's still going well for you.

C'mon, when does the sniping and back-biting begin? This is still the internet isn't it? I've looked around at a few of the topics... looks like we're off to a good start.
