This is crazy. I ordered a new router from Amazon this morning at around 10:00 AM (Sunday): At around 6:00 PM the doorbell rings. I'm like hmm, not expecting anyone, who's at my door on a Sunday night... I see a guy wave as he walks away and there is an Amazon box on my front step. I'm like no way... WAY: I didn't pay for faster delivery. I'm a prime member so there is that, but same day? How can they even ship that fast is just bit freaky, but color me impressed.

Amazon's experimenting w/ the same day delivery service in some cities. So if you're in one of the test cities, you're very lucky indeed.

I wish... Here in Ireland we have to order from the UK. Delivery takes a week. And here, in this remote rural part, nobody can find our house. I usually end up telling the delivery van to go to the nearest town and drop it into the chemist shop in the main square. I'm looking forward to the drones...

Had not seen the delivery guy I would have looked up in the sky to see if an Amazon drone was flying away. We already have Google self driving cars on the roads in the Bay Area:
