If this poll is accurate, it's good news for the future of writing books. Publishing books has never been a zero-sum game, but increasing the size of the market can only be a good thing for those of us producing content. New Poll Finds Majority of Americans Read EbooksInteresting stats from the article: - 54% of Americans currently read ebooks
- Ebook readers purchase about double the books of print readers
- 46% of Americans still read only print
There's lots more good stuff in the article.

I can't count the number of print books I have in my home. However, they're all books I've bought in the distant past. Today, I'm ALL ABOUT MY KINDLE. I rarely buy a print book now.
That said, I still want to offer print books to my readers as well as eBooks. There are still people who have a thing against eBooks.

That said, I still want to offer print books to my readers as well as eBooks. There are still people who have a thing against eBooks. When it comes to fiction, I'm with you. I rarely read print books unless I find something interesting at a book exchange or we make a trip to the library. I haven't bought fiction in print for years. I have a few old favorites on my bookshelf, but I've ditched everything else that I don't think I'll read again. For non-fiction, I still prefer print. All but a few of my writing books are in print. The only reason I have any digital editions is because they were free or nearly so. Like you, I offer all of my books in print in spite of the fact that print represents 0.2% of my sales. My wife has the tools and skills to do cover design and interior layout, so we have no problem producing print-ready PDFs for the printers. If I had to pay for those services, I'd probably let print wait until I'm rich and famous so the book sales would justify the cost.

Marvello, I'm with you on non-fiction in paper. Just easier, and the gubmint can't take it away as easily.
