yes, very sad, I think I read the first three books and loved them. A very talented author who will be missed.

I don't think it was that. She wasn't well for many years and she was also blind the last few years. RIP, wonderful lady.

well, I think when someone has just died, it's nice to show your respect... And not crack jokes. because death is never funny.

well, I think when someone has just died, it's nice to show your respect... And not crack jokes. because death is never funny. I disagree. I didn't know the woman and wonder who if anyone here really did? My remark about writing killing can be backed up with dozens of victims, from Virginia Woolf to Ernest Hemingway. Did writing contribute to this woman's death? Who knows? But this IS a writing venue and so my remark fit that at least. Good lord, are we to have an obituary section or a chapel where one cannot express humor? There's nothing that is beyond the reach or help of humor--God knows the human condition is often saved by humor. There never was more use of humor or its balm than in the foxholes of WWI & II, with death and savagery abounding. So, to those (at least two) folks who PMd Suzy and complained--get a grip! If you have a complaint on anything I post, PM me. We can discuss it. I get a bit sick of the nicey-nice "rules" that others try to press on folks. I'd hate to see this place turn into a lace & tea party lockstep group. I'm headed out for a week, so if you want to reply to me I can answer your PMs on return.

And I do like a nice cup of tea.
