I check in at 9:00 Pacific, and there's only one active thread? What is this? Do you people have lives, or something?

I have a day job. And three kids. It really gets in the way of my ability to stare at a blank screen and not type anything.

I was driving from the coast (3 hr drive) then I had to shop on the way. I have this old fashioned car with no broadband and I have to keep my hands on the wheel and my eyes on the road...
But I'll be here later.

We have company coming tonight, and tomorrow I'm going to be in the Atlanta Color Run. So I've been cleaning, mostly. I will be walking. I only run in apocalypses.

I'm writing up a cheeky little post about Sizzling hot chick-lit. Then I'll be free to play.

(and don't ask me who art is...)

We do but we have virtual lives too... It's all mixed up and entwined like a ball of string with all kinds of ends and knots and connections... Very difficult to unravel...

I check in at 9:00 Pacific, and there's only one active thread? What is this? Do you people have lives, or something? I've been out of commission. I got back from Bali on Tuesday and my wife and I both got a bad case of jet lag. Finally today, I'm feeling back to normal... say 95%. So that's my excuse.

It's not quite Bali, but I'm camping out tonight for a Boy Scout deal at the patrol leader's ranch. Yay! Ish.

Good luck with that, CB. I refused to take my Guides (Girl Scouts) camping, though I did take them on indoor holidays, i.e. we slept and ate indoors. Those leaders who did camp reported girls taking hair straighteners and dryers with them. Poor pampered darlings, they must have had the shock of their lives.

This reminds me of that old movie, Troop Beverly Hills, where one of the mothers, a Beverly Hills socialite takes the daughter's scout troop to a hotel when it starts to rain. One of the leaders catches up with them when they have checked into one of the suites. "Is this what you call camping?" she asks.
The mother replies: "Nine people and one bathroom... Yes." (I would agree)

The only time I have ever camped was at Kichwa Tembo tented camp in the Masai Mara game reserve in Kenya. Proper beds, showers, and flushing toilets all inside the tent; excellent cuisine in the restaurant; wonderful game drives to see the wildlife; and, at night, the (alcoholic!) sundowner around the campfire under glorious African skies filled with thousand upon thousand of stars. Ahh.
After that, who wants a sweaty sleeping bag in a tent in typically British wet weather, and queuing for toilets and showers in the morning?
