I want to add more weekly posts to my blog, and I kinda want to theme the days, but I'm not sure what to pick. I'm going to keep Friday for reader-oriented written posts, and maybe add one day a month where I do a writer post instead, but I'm considering that as a separate day. As for the readers, I had a bunch of ideas, and a lot of them would work really well for my blog, so that's not really an issue. I'm just not sure what would be most interesting to readers.
I'm thinking of adding Mondays and Wednesdays, so two more days where I post, at least for now. Some of these would be really easy to do in a batch ahead of time and schedule, such as the quotes.
You're welcome to borrow some of the ideas. I've seen most of them elsewhere anyway.

Great ideas, lynn! I think character analyses sound like a winner. I chose "meme of the week" just because reading-oriented seem so popular. I think they reinforce a sort of "we're all part of a special group -- readers!" thing, which makes people feel good about themselves.

I went for real life heroes and heroines and character analyses, because I find that so interesting

The only thing about character analyses is that they could be potentially really time consuming, but it might be something I can incorporate once a month into my Friday reader posts. Everything kinda helps me to see what people enjoy reading.
Memes, quotes, videos... all would be really easy to do and fun to boot.
The heroes/and heroines one I have seen once or twice, and I think it would be something unique.

A pattern emerged to me that I don't know why I thought of it before. So I made a chart (cause I'm a nerd), and listed what could happen each day. The numbers denote the week of the month they would take place, and the fourth and fifth weeks, I would just post whatever I felt like. I would also add additional posts if needed to announce something important. I think giving myself some structure will help focus the topics of my blog, as well as become more interesting to readers. I have pretty steady traffic right now, but I'd like to see more interaction.

That worked. Seems like a great plan, lynn. I'm so impressed by how active your blog must be. much better than my non-very-lofty goal of posting once a week.

I have been posting once a week until now. I decided I needed to up my game a little bit, because I don't feel like doing some of the other platforms with dedication. I decided to post on my blog and use Twitter.

Thanks! I wasn't really sure if it appealed to anyone but me, but I have fun picking out ideas.

I think it's a great blog. I hope I'll have time to post more frequently on mine over the summer and in the fall. You're inspiring me, lynn!
