I thought we'd start the celebrations with a little Irish dancing. Here is Riverdance- I love them. Attachments:

I'm half-Irish, half-German, but I look Irish. Can't tell in my author photo, but I have red hair and freckles. I think that must have been when I dyed my hair to cosplay River Song. We bought some Guinness, and we're having corned beef and cabbage tonight, but I can't say I'm the biggest fan of cabbage. (And what I look like most of the time...)

You look so cute, Lynn! Green suits you.
We're having roast lamb and red wine. I refuse to drink green stuff.

I'm not dying the beer green. I'm not even going to pour it in a glass! LOL
I did make double chocolate mint brownies last night, too. I thought about making green icing, but I thought chocolate icing would be better on brownies. They're dangerously rich, though!

My name is Patrick Shawn, and my great grandparents emigrated from Ireland. I have no idea why my parents spelled my name "Shawn" instead of "Sean," which I would have preferred. They did not consult me at the time. In any case, happy St. Paddy's Day from this Irishman!

My hair is mostly white/gray now, but it was a light auburn before that. My beard was bright red. I'm still liberally freckled. I'm not sure what % Irish I am, but I know it's there somewhere in my grandfather's family tree.
Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

There are many Daniels in my husband's family. With that colouring, you simply MUST be very Irish. Happy St Pat's to you too!

Patrick Sean (they probably thought Shawn would be easier to pronounce in the US)couldn't be more Irish.

I have a friend whose parents are of Irish descent. She married a guy who was half-Irish, half-Norwegian by descent. No redheads in either family, but one of their kids is a brilliant carrot top. It was lurking in there somewhere.

My hair was strawberry blond as a child, and darkened into auburn as an adult. They tell me my great-grandmother was known for her fiery red hair. Me at age 3:

I have red hair, and when younger also had freckles. I'm not Irish. If anything, I'm descended from Viking stock. My maiden name was an Anglicised version of a Scandinavian name, and I was born and grew up within the original Danelaw - the area of England invaded by the Vikings/Danes.
I think a lot of Irish folk may carry the genes of the Vikings within them, too.
