Ah, the humanity-as-weasels explanation. I like it. Not ALL of humanity, but the weasels do give the rest of us a bad name. What bothers me most about the problem is not just that we have true weasels responsible for the harassment (a small % of conference goers), but that we have pseudo weasels who defend or even encourage the true weasels (a disappointingly large % of conference goers). THAT is what gives the true weasels the freedom and confidence to continue their harassment. I think that came as the biggest shock to me, too. Though the "ringleader" of that had himself stalked a number of girls, and seemed to think that any girl he thought was hot that didn't date him was just disillusioned. I dunno why everybody else listened to him, though.

That's great! The Radish looks like a neat blog. But why do you suppose they named it "The Radish"? Sharp, refreshing, and a little bitter?

I guess so. I mostly wanted to write to readers, since it happens on a pretty high level. I posted it on a fan forum last week, and about five people (of both genders) said they all had similar incidents happen to them or to someone they were with. People just need to talk about it and get it out in the open.

Todd Gallowglas had a similar experience some time back and shared a rather scathing post about it. He linked to other posts that were also educational. I've personally never attended a 'con, so I was unaware of the problem prior to his post.

Yeah, I'm sure guys get harassment as well. One of my other harassers a few years later was female, but she was so drunk that I don't think she had any idea what she was doing. She passed out next to me, and I went and got a staffer who got her medical attention. The woman was so far gone I almost wonder if someone put something in her drink, so I'm kinda glad I was able to redirect her to somewhere safer.

You know, what happens in Vegas...

I just found "Arrow" on NetFlix and added it to my queue. Looks interesting, but not sure how the wife will react.
