Fascinating. Don't know the story but I think I'll buy it.

Wow. I've never seen a 5.0/5 star average over 453 reviews. That's extraordinary.

Well, that's one of the things that got the thread locked down. The OP seemed to be accusing the author of sicking her minions over to Amazon and having them flood the book with 5 star reviews in support of her. But The writing is good enough to warrant good reviews on its own IMO, and if they are eager to read the thing, I can see readers devouring it. There's a long-ass sample, and I flew through it in no time. It was a fast read. I don't know one way or the other, but I wouldn't start questioning the authenticity of the reviews. It may just be that good.

Just read the thread. Looks like the mods think GChandler may have been part of a concerted attack on the author. If you were going to buy hundreds of fake reviews, they wouldn't go up like that, I don't think. I think I agree with the mods.

<shrug> Not turning up anything Google, but who knows? The author's site does say she's taken down her Twitter and Fb profiles because of attacks on herself and her family. Beats me.

Yeah, that was a good lock down. Smells like troll meat to me, too.

I tried to post a few times in that thread, but gave up. Seemed like people had an agenda, which doesn't interest me at all.

Don't know anything about it... haven't seen the thread, but if an author has a loyal following of readers, and he/she asks them to post an honest review after they read the book, I don't see any problems with that. I wish I had minions like that. Now of course if they'er paying or asking to only rate it five stars, that's different, but a shout out to the mailing list or FB page asking for reviews, that's a powerful arsenal to have.
