I am being featured today on e-book soda, a new site that target mainly the UK market, which is something we need to get our books noticed over here. For the moment, they don't charge for promos, so it doesn't hurt to submit. They did a great job with mine and their blurb is terrific. It will be interesting to see if I get a boost in the UK (links below) This is their main page with today's offers: www.ebooksoda.com/ebook-deals/And the page with my books: www.ebooksoda.com/ebook-deals/hot-property-by-susanne-olearyI'll keep you posted on my results.

Good luck with it, Suzy. They featured one of mine when they first launched (and my memory is so poor that I can't remember which book - Strictly, I think - or when it was). I got one sale that day, which might have been down to them. Or not.

I don't know how many subscribers they have. Not that many as they're so new, I suppose.

I'll be interested in hearing how it goes. My books are selling double in the UK what they are in the US right now for reasons I can't fathom. It might not hurt to do a little promotion and see if I can ride the trans-Atlantic wave.

As it's free, what do you have to lose? I didn't even reduce my price as the book was at $2.99 already.

They advertised Nolander list month as a freebie. I definitely got a boost in the UK, but it was tiny -- 30 downloads, or something. Then again, it was enough to get onto one of the fantasy subgenre lists, and the book's stayed there since. Plus, their list could be growing rapidly, and it could be more romance-oriented.

I have no idea. We'll see what, if anything, happens. The e-mails went out at 1 Pm today my time so far-nothing. But my UK sales have always been a lot less than the US. Don't know why.

Here's another UK site to try, if you haven't already: IndeBookBargains. www.indie-book-bargains.co.uk/Listings are free (I think) but the site owner has strict criteria - make sure you fill out the form properly.

Thanks, Lynda. That site looks familiar. I may have promoted with them during my last Select run. It's a nice-looking site.

I'm sure they will.
I hadn't really thought about the fact that my book has over 50 five star reviews. But they pointed that out to me. I was staring myself blind at the 4 two star ones when I should have celebrated the 51 five star and the 60 four star... Which means 111 people loved it.
Shows how insecure we are...

I really hope they do well. We are in desperate need of a good promotional site in the UK. I've had one bit of luck there, and it was using the indie book bargains site that Lynda mentioned above. I've tried it several times since with almost no results, though. Someone, please, build a UK site so we can throw our money at it!

We do need one over here, one that's at least as effective as Bookblast or even Freebooksy. Can't understand why nobody has started one over here.

I wonder if there's just not enough business on Amazon UK to motivate such sites?

I meant to add this to my last post and forgot -sorry.
One of the reasons you may not do so well in the UK if you use US-centric sites, is that the links all lead to Amazon.com where, if you can see the price of the book at all, it will be higher than given in the ad. I subscribe to ENT, and most of the time when I click on a link, the 'Buy with 1-click' button re-directs me to Amazon UK where the price will be more than stated by ENT and a free book often isn't free.
Just something to consider if you're trying to reach British readers.

No that hasn't happened to me. If you're in Select the freebie kicks in right across all Amazon sites.
I can report that a day after the e-book soda feature, it has resulted in no extra sales. But that book sells well anyway so it's hard to know if any of my sales came from there.

No that hasn't happened to me. If you're in Select the freebie kicks in right across all Amazon sites. I think what Lynda is saying is that if a UK reader follows an ENT or POI link, they're likely to end up on the .com site and will see a higher price because they're not on their local site, even if the price on their local site is reduced/free. Is that right?

I'm not sure because now we have to buy from Amazon UK and can't actually see prices on .com
