And the axe? Well it's really only a fashion accessory...
Umm ... If you say so, Suzy!
Welcome, Gayle. One of my students this semester claims to have watched all of Doctor Who, from the 1960s on up. As soon as he said it, I knew he'd be an awesome student.
Welcome, Nadia and krg!
Welcome, Andrew. Vrab isn't just A moderator. He's THE moderator. Tread softly and carry a big beer (for distraction purposes).
Welcome, L.L. Sounds like you're doing great: getting 1K sales right off the bat is fab!
Hello! I am Cate Dean, and I write romantic suspense and paranormal. I am also a refugee from the kboards.
I live in California, and I am a travel addict and photographer. My romantic suspense series is time travel, and because it is set in England, I get to indulge myself and head over to my favorite destination at least once a year. You know, for research.
I travel solo, and I love it! I plan my trips around three things - research, castles, and theatre. They have taken me to some amazing, often out of the way places.
I am excited to be here, and I look forward to getting to know all of you!
*waves* I'm Alexis! A long time lurker on KBoards that jumped at the chance to sign up here when I read about it being private. So nice to see so many familiar names.
I'm very new to the world of self publishing. As of yesterday I have one eBook published on Amazon Kindle eBooks. While perusing KBoards I stumbled across this forum. I must admit, I do prefer smaller communities. I think the larger ones can be overwhelming for people new to the world of self-publishing.
The last two days have been spent soaking up a plethora of information surrounding the self-publishing world. I think I'm starting to comprehend it but it seems it'll be a gradual process, nonetheless hopefully an enjoyable one!

Welcome, Chris! Congratulations on publishing your first book.
Learning about self-publishing is a gradual process because there are so many options and so much to know. My advice? Take your time, try not to get frustrated, and choose the strategies that fit your own goals and personality. Sometimes that means experimenting with ideas that don't pan out. There's no "right" way to publish books except the one that works best for you.

Hello and welcome, Chris. Looking forward to seeing you around.
Another former KB denizen here. Nice to see so many familiar faces. I'm a hybrid author, with about 200 trad published nonfiction children's books under my belt, plus two indie novels, and a third on the way (a Weird Western). Trying to make the transition to writing fiction full time. I cut my teeth as a magazine editor for many years before moving over to books. I'm also a professional graphic designer and photographer. And I love dogs and pizza, not necessarily in that order.
Hi! I'm Caddy Rowland. A lot of you will know me from kboards. I write dark, raw, gritty, emotional novels. The Gastien Series is historical fiction, drama, family saga, psychological, and the last 2 books are also gay fiction, the last is also gay romance.
I'm currently in the middle of a new continuing saga called There Was a House, which is contemporary psychological crime fiction and gay fiction.
All of my novels are LGBT inclusive, either with side characters or sometimes main character. Why? Because I write about the sublime joy and bitter tragedy of being human, and all members of the human race are part of that story.
From this board I hope to strengthen friendships already made, make new friends, and learn a lot. I hope to also be able to help others.
Thank you, Suzy for inviting me, and I'm sorry it took me so long to join! I can't promise how active I'll be, but I'll give it a whirl and see how things go.
ETA: I can't get my photo lnks to make book cover photos. Can anyone help?

TWO HUNDRED children's books?!? Wow, John, that's amazing! Welcome!

Welcome, Caddy! I've noticed you seemed less present on KB and had missed your posts. *Very* happy to see you here.
Welcome, Caddy and John and everyone else who just joined! I woke up a lot more members and that was such a great thing to see. I hope you will enjoy this board and I know you will all greatly contribute to the friendly atmosphere and totally laid back tone here.
