Sorry but I have to mention some rules.
While the Pub is not heavily moderated, I have to put down a few rules and tell you what is not accepted here.
1) Personal attacks
2) An attack on any race, religion, or sexual orientation etc, will lead to banning.
3) Spamming of any kind is not allowed. There is a special area where you can promote your books but apart from that, no advertising, please.
Also, the general rules for the Proboards Forums will apply:
1. Posts that belittle other members will not be tolerated. If someone comes here and asks for help, please give them a sensible answer and point them in the right direction. Do not make fun of them solely because they are new. We were all new one day and we all might have needed help likewise. 2. If you cannot be civil when replying, please do not reply. This is a friendly community. 3. We do not appreciate members belittling derogatory terms that relate to Special Olympics and to those that partake in them. 4. Please do not try to convert anyone to your way of thinking whether it be your internet browser/religion preference/or any other kind of preference or choice. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and should not be made to change theirs because you don't agree with it. If someone does ask for help with anything relating to 'their opinion', then either help them in a friendly way or ignore the thread/post.
5. And finally, don't be rude!

Hey Suzy! Thanks for setting up this forum! What are your rules on multiple accounts? I know some of us that write in different genres would love the ability to have multiple user names, not to stir up trouble, but just to protect the compartmentalization of those names. For instance I write sci-fi, fantasy, geek romance and erotic romance. I like to keep all the voices in their respective boxes.

Hi, Alexis. Hmm, haven't thought of that. Generally, here we're writing in one genre only. But if you wish to set up a different account for each genre, that would be okay. PROVIDED you PM me first and tell me that you're doing this. I think I'll put this into the rules. I do like to know who everyone is.

FWIW, I support the idea of different accounts for different pen names. Writers often adopt a completely different persona depending upon which name they are writing under.

Also, different pen names often have independent Internet identities. Each one might have its own email account, web site/blog, twitter account, Facebook page, signature line, and so on. I know I do. If you don't let these members have multiple accounts, they basically have to "pick one" for the purpose of participating in the forum. That wouldn't be a terrible thing, but it might limit their participation. I'm just musing here, not trying to convince you of anything. I'm not the person who has to manage the forum.

This is exactly my reason for asking. In fact since I didn't know the answer before I signed up, I did so under one of my pen names. I neglected to do that on WC and I've regretted it ever since. I have a whole 'nother career that involves a very visible presence online and at conventions etc that I just want to keep separate from all of my writing. I'm a compartmentalizer. Anyhow thanks for considering it Suzy!

Very good points (again) Daniel. Of course it's a good idea to allow multiple profiles in that case.
