Thanks Lynda! There will be extra toasting here because I finished the draft of Last Train to Barksville. (Thank heavens it's over; this one was hard.)

Thanks! We went to the parade and then joined the rest of the extended family and neighbors for a beach picnic where we watched multiple sets of fireworks in the distance. The kids were worn out!

Thanks! We took it easy and enjoyed the first nice day we've had in a while.
Spring has been lingering here. We're still running the pellet stove to take the chill off the house in the morning, which is unusual past the solstice. It looks like the switch has finally been flipped though. We're expecting sunny days and warm temps for the next week or so.

It was mid to high 90s here, we took the boat on Sebec lake and had a blast. Going to visit my dad at camp today, he has a timeshare cabin for this week in Greenville, and it's got a pool and a hot tub so we'll be lounging around in those. No idea what we're doing tomorrow, but it will probably include a visit to the coast. Then on Sunday, we're going to Veazie to look at...um...another boat. Here's the deal, it's just a boat and trailer with no motor. It's a bit newer and nicer than the one we bought and the price is right at $400. The layout is slightly different, and it already has 6 seats. So we figure we can buy it, swap the motor, and sell the boat, trailer, and $400 worth of extra seats that came with ours, for what we'll pay and other than the fees for transferring the registrations, will be even.
It costs $135 a day to rent a boat around here, we've used it 3 times already and I know we're going to use it a lot more, so I'm calling it a good investment. We're within an hour's ride of 7 decent sized lakes, ponds, and rivers. Between them, there's 200,000 acres of water to explore. I'm loving it.
Happy belated 4th to all!

It was mighty hot in New Jersey, too. But a pleasant time was had by all who had air conditioning.
