Today is the eve the feast of the three kings. But here, in Ireland, it's known as "Nollaig na mBan" - the women's Christmas.
It's the day women are finally allowed to put their feet up and rest after all the cooking and shopping and providing cheer for huge families.
I love this idea. And I love this day, when my husband does all the chores. I cooked tonight because I love cooking, but he cleaned up. I worked hard over the holidays, with all the family staying here. So it's nice that all that hard work is appreciated.
Happy Women's Christmas!

I like the idea of Women's Christmas but it definitely did not happen that way here tonight! I just took down the Christmas tree, with pretty much no help from the boys.

Yeah, I'm with Amelia. I took down the tree today...and boxed up all the decorations. Plus, we had Christmas with our grandkids tonight. Sounds like a lovely tradition, though.
