Someone got their car booted for not paying their traffic tickets. This happened right across the street from me. I've never seen them in action and now I know why, they're fast! Took less than three minutes. It cost $316 to have the boot removed so that's over $100/minute for the city of San Francisco. That's the most efficient city workers I've seen.

Ouch! I've gotten a San Fran parking ticket. P-A-I-N-F-U-L. I pretty much got it down now, but when I first moved here I had two expired meter tickets, a parking on a street cleaning "no-parking" time frame, and then a ticket for crossing a double white line on the freeway. This was within two years and after not having had a ticket in like 20 years, I was like damn California likes to give out tickets. Fortunately only one was a moving violation which counts towards insurance and since I had a clean record the state extorted another hundred bucks or so from me by offering to not drop the dime on my insurance company if I went to online traffic school which I did. Worth it to not have my insurance rate go up.

I bet the whole thing cost $500 or close to.
