It is very cute! Now that I have more books out, I've been thinking about boxed sets. I'm not sure of the pros and cons though. Is a box set likely to take sales away from the individual books? I haven't read much about people's experience with doing box sets. I guess if I have my first book on permafree, that one couldn't get cannibalized anyway

My theory on boxed sets...
It's worth considering when the sales of your individual titles are asymmetric. If your series has poor sell-through, for example. You might be able to increase your revenue by giving readers an incentive to invest in the entire series up-front.
Also, it's worth trying if your series sales have pretty much died down. At that point, you have nothing to lose.
It's probably a bad idea if every book in your series does well independently. In that situation, releasing a box set will probably do nothing other than reduce your revenue. You might pick up a few extra bargain hunters who would not have bought the individual books at their regular price, but if that idea appeals to you, maybe you are better off lowering the price of your individual books.

Actually, I have made three box sets before, two aren't selling at all, neither are the individual books selling that well. But my romantic collection I made last year is selling in a trickle each month, making me $100 or so AND the individual books in that bundle are selling a lot better, especially Villa Caramel that is included in the bundle, which is my top selling book in the UK since December.
Don't know why it is like that but perhaps the box set readers are a different category from those who buy individual books? In any case, each box set sale makes me around $5...

As they say, in theory, practice and theory are the same, but in practice they aren't. I guess box sets are like everything else. The only way to know for sure what will happen is to try it. If you don't like the results, you can always unpublish.

Another thing I thought about is that a boxed set ends up in different categories on Amazon, which might be less competitive. Almost anything is less competitive than romance, after all. And like you said, the box sets might be appealing to a different group of buyers. They may look in that category first, like those people who search through the bargain bins at the front of the bookstore first. (Yes, that was me .)

How come I didn't see this? I am oblivious, lately.
Hot colors! Hot damn! (Yes, it's cute.)

Aww, thanks, Lindy. And it has sold a few, on amazon.com and even in Germany, plus on Apple too. So I'm happy

Nice, but where's Hot Tamale and Hot Sauce? Didn't we all agree that these books would be written?
