So I spent money again! Yes it's true what you've heard about me. When I start to worry about sales and 25% drops at Amazon because everyone has decided 10 page books in KU are a great idea, I throw money at the problem. Or throw money away some might say. I have run rafflecopters before and they weren't great. So what did I do? I bought my own rafflecopter type plugin to see if I can make it work in the indie style of DIY for the win! The WP plugin is called KingSumo Giveaways. I've set it up here. I'm hoping it will work and this is the part where I swallow my reluctance and pride and ask for you to tell your friends about the link with a tweet maybe, or an FB? Is that okay to do here? Say no, and Suzy can delete I'm sure, but I really need to get the word out. I sent this to my list yesterday, blogged it, tweeted it, and I have 91 new mailing list subs. YAY! But this widget is meant to use a viral method like rafflecopter (where every time your lucky link is used by someone to enter the giveaway, YOU get three extra chances to win the prize) No one is doing it. Maybe my instructions on the page are too vague?

Mark it's fine to advertise something like this in the pub but maybe it would be better to put it in the special promotions section?
ETA: I'll move it there if you like.

I know, Mark, but if you're announcing something like this, you'll want maximum exposure. Posting it over there will help.

Nice! I had actually specced out the idea of a Rafflecopter-like plugin a few months ago, but didn't want to put in the time and money to hire a developer and go through all that, so this is a cool plugin! Thanks for the info, I had no idea it was out there. Damn, it's expensive. Does it integrate with mailing software? I use Aweber.

This looks really cool! Shame it doesn't work with weebly sites I've looked at Rafflecopter a few times and can't seem to get my head around it - I would want to attract people to join my mailing list rather than facebook, but it looks like that option costs $60 per month!

Yea that part sucks. That's why I'm curious if this plugin integrates with AWeber or mail chimp. There is a work around with rafflecopter free version. You can add a URL to your newsletter sign up form. But it's basically honor system that they'll sign up to earn the points. But it works I received sign ups that way. Or you can disengage and use the database to add by hand.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Well, it IS expensive but i think its worth it long term to be able to control all aspects of a giveaway. You can edit while one is running! Notice a typo? Fix it without stopping. Notice no one is sharing the lucky link? This happened to me so i edited the blurb and instructions all on the fly on this very giveaway and highlighted some text in red, and people started sharing the link. imagine doing a rafflecopter and realising there was a mistake or it wasnt working! You would have to wait a week or until it ended. So anyway. Thats why i took a deep breath and just paid up.
