I don't know where to post this, but I have to share: I swam in the sea today! It's only April and the water was 15 degrees C, which is 59F... brrr Very, very proud of myself. I did it because there was a Norwegian woman at the beach who said it was too cold for her. So I had to show her that Swedes are braver than Norwegians, so I ran into the sea and did a couple of strokes and then raced out again. But of course SHE then had to do it too and stayed in longer (bitch) than I did and come out looking smug. My husband nearly died laughing at this contest. Did you take your top off? ? If I recall, there were a number of women - old, young, single, married, mothers - with their tops off.

A few years ago a lot of the women went topless on the beach here. I always thought it looked very vulgar. Funny, how this is now considered tacky.

Perhaps nipple-burns are no longer all the rage.

I have a similar moment in my WIP, except it's guys and there's a prize for whoever stays in the longest.

I haven't been back to Nice in a few years. So I guess times have changed.

I would have stayed in for about two minutes but I'm sure SHE would have stayed in a lot longer only to get whatever the prize was. That was freezing cold water!
