Wheel of Time is a joke. Shouldn't be there. Ancillary Justice was excellent. But I didn't read Parasite or Warbound. Gotta read up on those before I cast my ballot. Don't know shit about any of the others. I get all my short stuff from Azimov's, and they never seem to make the list any more.

Anyway, as far as Gaiman goes, I think it's noble that he declines so others can have the spotlight. I'm not gonna do that. I'll take as many as I can get....I mean, you know, if....

I knew you were an SF fan, Fred, but I didn’t know you were that much of a fan. I haven’t read any of those magazines in years, but you’re bringing back memories. I’ll have to go check out the freebies again. The last time I looked at Clarkesworld (a couple of years ago) I couldn’t even follow the two stories I decided on.

His writing's fantastic. But you know, the more I think about it, the more I don't like him declining the nomination. If I win the award, then I want to know that I beat everyone, including Gaiman. It's kinda like the Heath Ledger character in A Knight's Tale. He wanted to beat Count Adamar. Winning the tournaments wasn't enough.
