No, I can't... And he's right. We travel too much. It's a week in the south of France, a week in Cape Cod, a weekend in Paris- or a puppy... And yes, that's Pebbles, the family dog. I love him. pet-sitter ...

I know! But I hate leaving a dog with someone else on a regular basis. My dog, Sheba (collie/Labrador RIP) hated being left. When we were away, she'd stay with my friend down the road but would run off regularly to stand on the lawn in front of our house, barking furiously.

I have to admit, travel is a pain. We have to board them, and they don't do well in kennels. All three of them have issues when we get home, and we've tried multiple kennels. It actually curtails our travel plans.

There's a kennel a driver and a nine iron away from my house, so, of course, we go to the kennel three miles away.

It actually curtails our travel plans. Try a pet-sitter who'll stay with the dogs in your home. That's what my sister does. I mean, she is a pet-sitter and she does overnights with people's dogs in their homes. It's a lot pricier than a kennel for one dog, but for three? Maybe not. And the dogs will be way happier. If you get bonded, insured sitter who's a member of the local pet-sitter organization, the person will be a professional. They're not going to fall down your stairs and sue you or steal your stuff.
