I'm at our little beach cottage today to inspect the house after the storm last week. The house is standing but plenty of damage out on the tip of the peninsula. Roofs ripped off, whole shed blown away, trees uprooted, pretty scary.  I'm on mobile broadband which isn't super fast but okay considering some of the masts blew down. Very relieved we didn't lose the house.  |

I took pics of my husband wading into the river to rescue his wheelbarrow, dressed in corduroy trousers, Ralph Lauren shirt, Gant jacket and wellies. He slipped and got soaking wet but managed to pull out wheelbarrow. When I couldn't pull him out because I was laughing too much and he saw the camera, he said alimony would be puny, except I could keep the kids.

Just to say I'm back to civilization!
Back to central heating and broadband. After securing everything in case of another blow, we headed home, happy that the beach house is safe.
